V.A. - The Roundup Part 5

heist036Listen to this if you want to hear last year’s best tracks on Heist by Detroit Swindle, Alma Negra, Kassian, Adryiano, Pitto and Hugo Mari in 1 big remix package. Release info: Rounding up five years of Heist also means we’re releasing our fifth version of the Round Up. Last year’s edition was full of highlights with Fouk remixing Nachtbraker’s anthem ‘Hamdi’ and Alma Negra going all tribal on Nebraska’s ‘Big plate chicken’. This year, we’ve seen a lot of new faces on the label, which has brought us a fresh set of combinations and a couple of really nice revisions of the tracks that made our year. First up is Detroit Swindle’s take on Heist’s latest signing Hugo Mari. They chose to remix ‘Change ur ways’, beefing up the dreamy original. They focus on a simple but effective grainy groove and added a twist on the bass to give a more ‘warehouse’ feel to it and play around with the lovely detuned keys and vocal chops of the original to great effect. Alma Negra show you just how loose their limbs are with a Rhodes filled version of Kassian’s Acid surprise ‘Bad Habit’, while the full B side is dedicated to Pitto’s personal take on Adryiano’s classic house track ‘Me and you and her’. His version takes the track into a new territory that lies somewhere between balearic and dreamhouse. Whatever it is, it’s got a lovely vibe where the vocal is complemented by airy pads and a touch of acid. Kassian on their turn, have done a great job on taking Pitto’s ‘Treat me like a fool’ into 4x4 house territory.

Apparel Wax - LP001

aplwaxlp001This time around you might find our gadget (aplwax condom) a bit odd but there’s something special behind our choice. We thought that in a messed-up world is important to protect ourselves from the wrong experiences, therefore as in love and sex also in music our artists are free to experiment, finding protection behind our label. Help us to protect quality music and spread your love for it not just for the ones who make it, because music’s purpose isn’t to glorify the singles but to unite people! Love the music = spread the love, this is Apparel Wax. Tracklist A1. LP001A1 A2. LP001A2 B1. LP001B1 B2. LP001B1 C1. LP001C1 C2. LP001C2 D1. LP001D1 D2. LP001D2 Shortinfo: We are proud to announce the arrival of Apparel Wax LP001, our first LP which opens a new catalogue dedicated to albums. We began to search the tracks for this Lp with the same guideline ever: the love for the music not thinking about the charts. The amazing artists who are taking part in the collective knew since day 1 that they had to put on a mask if they wanted to partake in this adventure; knowing how important is to “appear” nowadays we wanted to prove that we could make great music without the help of the big names. So far so good. For this double vinyl LP we picked amongst the different souls that House Music has got, from Disco to Lo-Fi, always focusing on our “Jazzy” watermark and giving the opportunity to the artists to prove their interpretative skills on this theme once again. A little reminder that next February 2019, month of the release, Apparel Music will be blowing 9 candles: no better time to celebrate with a new, fresh and energetic record. Let’s talk about the tracks that compose our 1st LP. Listening to this record is like walking around a house where the walls are made of the same concrete but every room has a different atmosphere that you can absorb in each distinct vibration.

Mark Barrott - Nature Sounds Of The Balearics

rbinc003lpMark Barrott is the man behind International Feel, Roca, Future Loop Foundation, as well as being a founding of the Balearic boy-band “Talamanca System” alongside Gerd Janson & Lauer. Nature Sounds of The Balearics is Mark’s debut LP on Running Back Incantations. Most music does not come out of nowhere. Arising and appearing in a pre-existing system of influences, cross-references, roots, memories and desires, it either directly points towards a heritage or into the future. Mark Barrott’s Nature Sounds of the Balearics is a bit of both. The mastermind behind the International Feel label and the Sketches from an Island series presents an intermediary. Technically, it’s his departure from a software based workflow and onto (or back to) a hardware driven creative point of view. Philosophically, it deals with the schizophrenia of our times: the late Paul Virgilio’s dromology and logistics of perception versus a decelerated life outside of cities, internet algorhythmics (sic!) versus meditation, the excessive stock market (all track titles are derivates of that world) against a tactile way of living. Musically, it is the outcome of what Barrott himself described as his „techno album“. For people whose definition of techno has to do with speed (again) and kick drums that might seem like a misinterpretation. Listeners who remember the Artificial Intelligence and Freezone compilations, various chill out channels or Detroit’s mellow moments, will tend to agree. „Nature Sounds of the Balearics“ miraculously evokes those days and times, without breaking his neck.
