With a series of archival releases now chronicled on home imprint Offworld Records, enigmatic techno producer Tim Jackiw issues a highly limited magenta-coloured 3-track EP of recordings unearthed from late-night studio sessions captured on DAT tape throughout 1996. On the A-side, minimal number 'Full Moon' stretches out over 10 minutes and ventures deep into the unknown, the feature a Roland SH-101 motif drenched in huge washes of reverb. On the flip, a previously-lost longer mix of favorite 'Shade' captivates with emotive pads and melodies and is rounded out by the ethereal title track 'Sunset Over Saturn'. Recommended! More

Ukrainian/Australian producer and musician Tim Jackiw's techno heart beats strongly on this hugely impressive EP that also takes inspiration from the more classically-leaning great 20th century composers like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream. An obvious talent, his highly musical approach is evident across this record. His is a rich, deep, melodic style which pulsates into play on the record's opener, 'Crimea' where swooping strings and stabs swirl their way round a direct and pulsating electro-patterned bass in a quite masterful piece. Next up 'Oculus', with its slight change of pace, weaves together brittle synth melodies, sweet 808 cowbells and a deep insistent bass line, morphing into an emotive string-led climax, rounding off a fantastic A side. On the flip surging pads envelope a funky, solid bassline on "Element 115" and within a minute we're into a techno dream, pulling us along with its frenetic beat. Closing things is the subaquatic beauty of "Wisteria" at first a deep, gentle turn but then accented with a wonderful, gnarly bass line, pulling the soaring beauty of the music into an impossibly funky, danceable groove. High quality music for the mind and body; a masterful turn from one of techno's true talents. More

Seasoned UK producer, Darren Nye, is set to captivate listeners with his exciting new album, "Thoughts And Emotions," released on Deeptrax December 1st, 2023. Dance music powerhouse Deeptrax follows up recent dispatches from Joey Anderson and Caim, with a label debut from fellow Dutch techno stalwart Robert Vosmeijer AKA De Sluwe Vos, who offers a 5-track collection that explores the depths of both music and sound. Crafted during the pandemic, Vosmeijer, who had been experimenting with ambient music and sound design, found himself longing for the dancefloor and its ability to disconnect you from reality whilst reconnecting you with friends. As such he began digging into his record collection, absorbing sounds and reenergising his creative output. "I loved making these records because it felt like I could express myself, within the 'De Sluwe Vos' project, again." The Patron Records boss' new Terraforming EP opens with 'Reeeese', a heavyweight ode to the legendary bass sound that underpins the track with its thick layer of treacly warmth. Solar Prince turns our focus on percussion, with its xylophone melody dancing between vaporised synths and string-laced stabs, to create a soothing and yet urgent soundtrack. On the flip, title track Terraforming, with its wonderful analogue crackles and hisses, lets the pulsing sub steal the show again as pressurised hats snappily punch holes in the atmosphere. Jupiter's Universe exudes a roughly cut techno 2step, layered with pulsing cosmic synths and bubbling melody. Finally the EP is rounded off by Crawford. Another track that perfectly rides the intersection of music production and sound design. It's cosmic keys and scything synths work almost at odds with the tribal roll of his drums, yet come together to create a mature and unique production. More

The exploration craft Isis001, a spaceship sent by humanity, has crashed into the unknown world of Triglav, with one of the most important discoveries in galactic history. Below, a handful of humans fight an armed group of outsiders and the entire hostile planet to protect the secret - the fate of the Triglavs, the legendary first species to show wisdom in the stars. Over time, the group of astronauts begins to understand what is going on on the planet,and begins to understand Triglav's secret, but will they be able to return to our planet and share the secret about Triglav? Triglav's heads were believed to represent Sky, Earth and the Underworld. It was believed that Triglav has three heads because he ruled these three kingdoms and had a golden binding over his eyes and lips so he could not see people's sins nor speak about them. From New Jersey via The Netherlands: longstanding US craftsman Joey Anderson makes his debut on Deeptrax with his inspiring new album... 'Exotic Sequence' His fourth LP to date, 'Exotic Sequence' is a fully instrumental deep dive into both Joey's machines and mindset, as he explains himself... "The title 'Exotic Sequence' stood out to me because throughout the LP I tended to use a sequencer for the main melody of most of the tracks. Almost every time I approach a track with techno intentions it eventually ends up being deep / housey," states the artist who broke through 15 years ago on Qu's Strength Music and has worked closely with the likes of Dekmantel and, more recently, Avenue 66. Now at home on the relatively new and positively thriving label arm of Dutch record store institution Deeptrax, Joey tells us where he's at with a body of work that poignantly reminds us that it's not the destination that counts; it's the journey we endure to get there. In this sense, 'Exotic Sequence' is the sound of Joey letting his instruments guide, inform and inspire him. Cuts like the constantly rising and hopeful 'Sky Children', the deep 808 bubbles and dreamy reflections of 'Behind The Valley' and the emotionally rich 'Stop' are just a handful of examples of Joey being lost in deep flow, channeling the creative energy in his studio. It lands exactly three years after his last album 'Rainbow Doll', neatly bookending the strangest and most surreal start to any decade we've lived through since house and techno culture took root in the 80s. A timeless document that looks forward and back and remains unhurried, thoughtful and crafted with longevity, 'Exotic Sequence' is arguably the most honest and frank side to Joey Anderson we've heard in his extensive career so far. Those lockdown silver linings continue to reveal themselves when we least expect it… As proved, once again, by the inimitable Amsterdam techno HQ Deeptrax as they present this stunning analog exploration from scene stalwart Mark Peeters AKA Caim.

Inspired, created and sculpted during those strange times when none of us could rave, Caim simply describes the moment by saying the “clubs were closed, but creativity kept on floating”… Now that floatation is bequeathed to us through these warm, rolling and wide-armed frequencies. Tapping into a spirit that goes right back to Detroit and Chicago, there’s an understated groovemanship at play as Calm jams out on the same instruments house and techno forefathers used to sculpt this culture.

Music to get lost inside of, music to take away the stresses of the day, music that’s a joy to mix, weave and tell stories with… Caim has created another timeless collection of grooves that could resonate with or relate to any period in the last 35 years of dance music culture.

From the warm, opening rumbles of ‘Nepi’ to closing rippling dubwise echoes of ‘Kapura’, very few stones are left unturned as Caim tells a tale of the ages that we can all float to. Here’s to silver linings. More

Dutch record label and shop Deeptrax has been tirelessly pushing the boundaries between rigid funk, electro, ambient & techno since 2016 and for release number 033, Singaporean Tserg delves in to the realms of science fiction. First up 'Dreadfully Distinct' conjures up themes of consciousness and the connections between man and machine in this Blade Runner=inspired soundscape, punctured with breakbeats and star-twinkling percussion, while 'Stardust' warps an electronic bassline among more day-dreaming voyages into the universe. On the flip the ambient stylings of 'Decisions; Derisions' wash over the listener as heartbeat bass kicks punctuate airy tapestries of space and sound, while 'Ready State of Mind' ramps up the tempo with light percussion and syncopated beats, all tightly wound around spaced-out samples. Limited edition, only 150 copies Essex-based producer Ruffien returns to Deeptrax with his debut album - To Win in Silence. Though made in just under a year, it is a collection spanning a decade's worth of personal growth culminated into one package - documenting the meandering highs and lows of his own private metamorphosis, as he blends impulsivity with styles contemporary, soulful and nostalgic. For the first time, Ruffien features his own vocals on some of the tracks, which makes the album feel more like several torn journal entry segments falling into place. Born in Brazil, Marcela Dias Sindaco is a former classical piano and cello player. Now she's releasing her first EP ever on Deeptrax Records!

At a young age her father introduced her to bands like Popol Vuh, Cluster and Tangerine Dream. Marcela’s style didn't fit conventional Brazilian music, as she instantly fell in love with these experimental bands. Later on in her life while traveling Europe, she discovered the underground club culture in cities like Berlin, Paris and Milan. Highly influenced by this, she started working on new music and through using her fathers studio she wrote amazing tracks at an outstanding level. All tracks are filled with raw basslines, pumping 808 beats, and not to forget some beautiful vocals. Craftsmanship is the word here! More

Delta Funktionen touches homebase with a heavy double pack on Deeptrax Records: the label that originates from the recordstore he worked at before his international DJ career kicked off. On this double pack he presents a collection of tracks that were made between 2010 and 2020. These tracks never seemed to fit the more conceptual records DF put out, but they have been regular outfits in his DJ sets and always pleased dancefloors around the globe.
