Cassy returns with ‘E.T.Ascension’, a mini journey through the sounds of house and techno which she adores. With this release she revisits the simplistic methods she used when making music in previous years when living in Berlin with her then husband, where he helped build her home-studio in the living room. With him being an established sound engineer she learned a lot from him through the process and by using predominantly just an 808 and a PC, the pair produced the main parts of these tracks together, with Cassy finishing them off herself last summer. It reminded her of the weirdness that makes her productions so great, which is what she has pinned on this release, enjoying the feelings of freedom by using the machine again, and revisiting the feelings she had when using the machine for the first time, how fresh, new and particular the sounds were.

Just over a year ago Cassy embarked on her largest and most personal project yet, her debut solo album ‘Donna’, released on revered imprint AUS Music. Since then, Cassy has put out a string of remixes on Powerplant, Turbo, Echoe and Watergate, plus a track on Muna’s latest VA. Throughout this period, Cassy has also been in the studio working on new material, the first of which to be released in September, and is titled ‘Cassy 004’. As the title infers, Cassy is reawakening her self-titled imprint she created in 2006, and has had three previous releases until now. With no plan or set schedule, the remit was simply to release her own records, when the time is right, and the quality is high. The music always reflected the quirkier side to Cassy’s club tastes. And 004 continue in this vein. It perfectly encapsulates the sleek and hypnotic sounds of the harder end of her DJ sets. The tracks are titled ‘One’ and ‘Two’, with Cassy giving ‘One’ a reshape to round off a trio of cuts aimed at the dancefloor.

It's not really necessary to introduce Catherine Britton aka Cassy anymore. Throughout the last years she continuously worked on her very own definition of House. Catherine Britton aka Cassy entered the electronic musicworld in Vienna, as a vocalist for Elin aka Autorepeat. After her first Dj-gigs in Vienna, Munich and further productions, she met Dave The Hustler in Geneva where they started working on a project for Mental Groove. Geneva was also where she met Luciano and co-produced "La Ondita",one of the album tracks on Lucien-N-Luciano's "Blind Behaviour" for Peacefrog and "Alpine Rocket" together with Mathew Jonson for Perlon. In March 2003, Cassy moved to Berlin where she became involved in projects with artists such as Steve Bug and Ricardo Villalobos. On Ricardo's last album for Perlon, she co-produced 2 tracks. Perlon 52 marks her first ever solo release.

Parallel Berlin head Daniela La Luz returns to her home away from home, HOUSEWAX with a few friends to rework her modern classic, "Did You Ever". Originally released in 2014 "Did You Ever" was an instant classic amongst decerning house heads, but it was when Detroit legend, Moodymann dropped it as closing track on his DJ Kicks compilation the year later. The light well and truly spun onto La Luz and her sublime approach of house and techno. Now to kick off 2018 Housewax have invited Virgo 4, Dah Ruh and Cinthie to offer their spin on "Did You Ever". Analog warmth, polished acid lines, breathy pads and rolling drum sequences – Tel-Aviv via Berlin producers PRZ and Dasco (Gal Perez and Hadas Cohen) are slowly but surely marking themselves as the friendly newcomers that you should be keeping a firm eye on. With just a couple of releases under their belts plus a hefty amount of experience in the studio, their music is finally beginning to surface. The two producers, who originally met at a party in Tel-Aviv joined forces two years later for a four day studio session to bring this collaborative extended player to light (the title might be also imply the duo’s understanding of old school aesthetics). Our pick ‘Line Machine‘ features seven minutes of acid-drenched house; with buzzy analog chords and funky synth-work, gliding and switching positions over a driving, punchy drum section.
