German DJ and producer Marc Brauner returns to the Killer Cuts series which he kicked off for Shall Not Fade back in February, sharing five tracks of hard pumping house to lose yourself in.

Patience EP starts as it means to go on with "Your Heart"; a hot cut of anthemic earworm organ house that doesn't hold back on the summertime rave nostalgia. Brauner explores 2-step on searing A2 "Optimist" which is riddled with deep house energy and a syncopated bassline that'll put a swing in your step.

"Be Patient" channels how we have all been feeling this past year waiting for the return of the dance; it carries Strictly Rhythm influence and a prescient vocal motif. The record closes but doesn't fade away, ending with "Faster", where momentous uplifting synth stable tumble forwards to great effect. The digital bonus track is "In Love", another playful, hypnotic bassline complimenting the consistent feel good vibes. More

Gavinco announces the ‘Deep Roots’ album, seven tracks of deep, jazz-infected house.

‘Deep Roots’ is a ravishing journey through lush, fantastical landscapes and paradisiacal coastlines.

It is here you can find Gavinco’s soothing synths and expert organic rhythm. From the title track through to ‘Transmute’, the A-side slowly builds up in energy, playful brass and lo-fi vocal samples creating an irresistible vibe whilst keys trickle like streams through swung jazz grooves.

The salt in the air makes way for glimmering stars on the B-side of ‘Deep Roots’, picking up the pace in ‘Showdown Groove’ and ‘Inspirations’ but maintaining the serene atmosphere of the album. ‘Homage’ then closes out the record via intense, mind-melting melodics and emotional vocal harmonies, rounding off a stellar LP where each instrument lives, breathes and brims with feeling.

“This is a deep jazz house album that I made with various old electric guitars, acoustic drum kits, Rhode & Hammond keyboards. I love world music, so I wanted to have an international selection of genres for the tracks so they could sound like they originate from any part of the globe. I wanted the listener to reflect and feel more engaged in the music by adding a meaningful or inspirational speech or voice for each track that is integrated into the rhythm of the music." - Gavinco

Joe Newham aka Gavinco first emerged on Houseum on the ‘Four J’s’ compilation back in 2018. He quickly followed things up with the “Caravella’ and ‘Interflow’ EPs in the years after, with this year’s ‘Deep Roots’ now marking the Brighton artist’s third escapade on the label. Newham combines a myriad of production techniques associated with genres anywhere from Acid House through to Afro-Beat, incorporating each element carefully into his versatile discography, making him a crucial player in the smooth house scene that’s released on notable imprints like Shall Not Fade, Novaj as well as his own outlet Satta Records. Take a think back to the end of the night, past the two o'clock knock-off time and towards that steady flicker of synthetic lights that tell you to go home. There's a sunrise somewhere outside, creeping towards the horizon and providing the clarity of day. But for now, the bass deepens as Aiden Francis draws you into his folds: the night has a few more memories to be made and the dancefloor a collection of dedicated music lovers who are there to wring the last few moments from it.

Aiden Francis started creating and forming this release back in 2019. At the time, he was repeatedly getting stuck in a musical rut with no clear artist or musical direction. So when he started working on the title track 'Mezzanine', all the other tracks fell into place after that. By the time 2020 came around, the EP was pretty much done but when the Covid pandemic hit, he found myself with a lot more time to sit removed from outside influence. So he sat back down with the tracks to refine and perfect them. His recording process for this started out quite relaxed but it then became some sort of lifeline for him over those lonely and scary months. This is why most of the tracks are less heavy dance floor orientated and more for those moments of bliss at home, the end of the night or that 7 am walk home from the club. More

Big Love boss Seamus Haji commits four of the label’s freshest releases to wax for the third edition of ‘A Touch Of Love’. Opening the compilation are two releases from London-based deep house duo Saison, starting with the feel-good house track 'Spark It Up' featuring Miss Patty. This anthem of manifestation is the perfect fit for Big Love, with its uplifting message of self-worth resonating over a deep and lively bassline. Next up, Saison take Mike Dunn’s ‘It’s A Groove Thing’ and give the classic disco-cut a club-ready spin. On the flip, Big Love shines a spotlight on Seamus Haji, with the Art of Tones NYC Remix of ‘I Walk Alone (For Your Love)’ made in collaboration with Those Guys. Rounding out the collection is the label boss’s soul-steeped single ‘Better Come Again’ featuring London’s Phebe Edwards, exuding a timeless energy that is quintessentially Big Love. More

Rhythm Section International proudly presents it’s 8th offering from local boys Chaos in the CBD. Born in New Zealand, but based in Peckham for the last few years (literally just around the corner from Henry Wu and Bradley Zero), these brothers have made a real mark on the scene here in London town and with their latest set of productions are set to take this message further afield.

Having already released internationally on labels such as ClekClekBoom (Paris), Hot Haus (London) and Amadeus (Montreal), the duo’s approach to production has matured immeasurably in the last year, as is evident in the restrained potency and poetic subtlety on the 4 tracks across this accomplished EP, Midnight in Peckham.

Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy - equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense - at once sublime, melancholy and meditative . Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakablely London and infact, timeless.
