Although my roots are firmly in Breakbeat-Rave, I was also captivated by the big room sound of labels like R&S, Guerilla, Hard Hands and Sven Väth’s Harthouse from that same period of time. My studio is full of old equipment that fuelled that original European sound so I quickly found myself focussing on a bunch of tracks that are heavily influenced by some really special music that often gets forgotten." Hot Creations welcome back the dynamic Shadow Child to drop heavyweight single The DBG, his first full release on the label since his earlier acclaimed remixes of Hot Natured and Miguel Campbell. Prolific techno producer Mark Broom also provides a compelling remix. Thudding kicks launch The DBG paired with eccentric, fizzing electronics that bubble alongside, before reaching a midpoint climax, unfurling into a colossal bassline. Mark Broom adds his groove-laden techno stamp on the remix, transforming it with energetic hats, soulful vocals, horns and hints of the buzzing high pitched synth of the original. On Get Busy finely tuned 909 and 707 drum patterns interlock with a dancing acid synth line. More

3 of Shadow Child’s “Connected” collaboration album tracks get a makeover from Rimbaudian, MJ Cole and Bodhi. Rising talent Rimbaudian reworks the only solo track from the project, “Steak Fingers”, and takes the original bumping stripped back groove on a more melodic journey with its stunning arpeggios and new string parts. The backbone of the original remains but be prepared to take a trip to a new stratosphere, with his stripped version which is included too. Bodhi step up next to remix “Gacid”, twisting and turning the original acid patterns and grooves to make a special rework that gives a nod to early Detroit with new drum programming and pads. The Welsh duo bring the heat. MJ Cole delivers what must be one of his finest remixes. “Um” the collaboration with Bodhi, already offers a trip that flirts with Jungle, lo-fi and the hypnotic but MJ Cole brings his signature vibe to the table with new keys, groove and provides something that feels as if it belongs in the realms of his seminal hit “Sincere”. The electronic music pioneers unveil 'Hidden Gems Vol. 2', the final part in a special series of previously unreleased material that follows part 1 and their 'Collected' album. What a privilege it is to continue this series of reworks and remasters on Food Music and this time we’ve got "I’m Rushing” from Bump!! The original from 1992 was (and still is) one of the most infectious house records ever made, with it’s uplifting synth patterns and vocals filling the air with pure joy and happiness. In addition to a re-master on the well known original, the new reworks here bring “I’m Rushing” bang up to date in impeccable style. Chambray leads the charge with an uplifting new synth pattern and pounding drums which compliment the original so well. Theo Kottis steps up with a beautiful mix that adds an Italo twist to complete a killer reworks package. Don’t sleep on this one.

We’re absolutely stoked that Zero B’s ‘Lock Up’ is the next instalment in Shadow Child’s ‘Curated by’ series on Food Music ..with a remaster exclusively cut to vinyl and a huge remix package in tow from the likes of Red Rack’em, Kiwi, 2 Bad Mice and more. This one is truly alive everywhere still and all these years later, these new mixes are set to take it as far as Lock Up has ever been before. Red Rack’em takes his huge, unique wonky approach to a new high with atmospheric synths & breakbeats wrapping around that incredible Bassline. Movin Shadow dons 2 Bad Mice join the party taking us on a massive breakbeat excursion which compliments the original.. new Amen breaks, samples and Bassline’s here! Jerome Hill gets even more ravey with 4 to the floor breaks and new stabs perfectly woven with Lock Up’s familiar vibe. With all manner of DJs reaching for the original 1990 hit still to this day, we’ve remastered it exclusively to vinyl and brought you fully official reworks from today’s elite. Using original salvaged parts from the Xpansions vaults, we have remixes from Krystal Klear, Rebuke, and Loods who all bring a fresh take as we enter summer 2019. Krystal Klear heads up the mix package, taking us into electronic bliss with his sublimely fresh synth stabs and a huge breakdown that will tease all your senses. Rebuke’s massive techno twister is set for the big rooms too, with a new riff following the bassline melody, trippy vocal production, rolling percussion and his trademark crescendo’s.
