Dutch legend Boris Werner joins the TSOL ranks with an EP that serves as a hell of a statement piece. The gritty hypnosis of No Tantrums gives way to a proper last-tune-of-the-festival in Ochtend Glunderen @ Wildeburg, while L.S.D. is the type of big room tackle that only someone with years of experience playing on those stages could deliver. These are five top drawer nuggets.

boris werner - Whooos In Control
See Double, the London based imprint headed by Luca Cazal and Brigante, returns for its fifth outing, a three track EP from Boris Werner titled ‘Badabing Badaboum’. A club-ready package and staple of Werner's recent sets, SD005 once again proves this Amsterdam local’s deep knowledge and understanding of how to move a dance floor.
Played by Seth Troxler and Richy Ahmed amongst others and tried and tested by both label boss Cazal and Werner on DC10’s terrace throughout this summer, title track ‘Badabing Badaboum’ is a bonafide club smasher. Leading the charge with a hypnotic bell riff alongside a chugging 4/4 pulse, Werner keeps a driving pace as sluggish and evolving low end theory enters the fray. A deftly constructed, energy filled arrangement progresses before indiscernible, tribal vocal chants take the fore, trading blows with a modulating acid bassline. On the flip Werner delivers ‘You Snooze You Looze’, a tech-infused cut adorned with rolling subs, clinical percussion and a head-snapping rhythm. Phased synthesis and dissonant sample work pushes the track into uncharted trippy territory, as processed vox stabs and crisp hi-hat patterns maintain momentum, leading to a deeply musical breakdown that offers a truly dynamic shift in mood. Closing the EP is ‘Whooos In Control’, a lesson in atmosphere and groove, which sees spaced-out synths interplay with automated stabs. Ethereal pads and warped fx float atop Werner’s swung drum programming creating that perfect roller for those early morning moments.
SD005 will be available soon in both digital and physical formats. More

Boris Werner, - Did It In Miami
UPC: 844216019605 Release: 22.10.2012
Tracklist: A Slowdancin' B1 Missing Out (Dedicated to Ed & Emma) B2 Did It In Miami
Boris Werner is known for producing quality music and filling venues with crowds who can't get enough of his energetic and inspiring sound. These are a couple of the reasons why Boris Werner stands with us here today and proudly presents the Slow Dancin' EP, and we think you are really gonna love it. Strings and a relaxed rhythm user in the title track, complete with ambient vocal samples. Then, all at once the bass hits and the kick fills the void; instant groove. A jumpy synth dances over the track and invites friends to the show. Before you know it you've got a full track on your hands. Don't be fooled by the title, as it is indeed misleading. There will be no slow dancing to this gem. 'Missing Out (Dedicated to Ed & Emma) is a bit deeper, but with a warm feel (e-piano on reverb). Then, like 'Slow Dancin'', it catches you off guard with the beat. This is a feel good track, perfect for evenings, deep nights, and early mornings. Not to mention some of the years last open-air festivals. 'Did It In Miami' opens with caution, an indecisive kick with other percussive elements slowly build into an invigorating tech house beat. Grimy vocal samples creep in and the bass line slips under the beat, holding up the track well on a packed dancefloor.

We're proud to present you the 14th installment of Soweso Records, delivered by our close friend and one of Amsterdam's finest: Boris Werner. With Set It Off, Boris delivers an amazing EP that showcases his diversity as an artist. As an addition to the three amazing original tracks, we're excited to welcome back Makam to the label. His techno infused 'Orchestra Drama mix' brings a unique perspective to the title track and shows that Makam has evolved a lot since his debut EP on Soweso 001. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Gene On Earth - Aston Martinez
After being marooned in a small beach town in Brazil at the start of the pandemic, California-born Gene On Earth eventually made it home to Berlin. As the reality of the global situation sunk in, he set to work on his second album, working in an obsessive daily rhythm. After gathering an arsenal of samples and inspiration he returned to the studio for 5 months of feverish work. Set for release on June 3rd via his own imprint Limousine Dream, ‘Time on The Vine’ is a slick record delivered with the laid-back warmth of a producer at the top of his game. Breezy yet assured, its wonky minimal rhythms are as feel good as they are fun, a perfect antidote to the long and waning pandemic that birthed them.

Since its inception in 2022 the PILLZ label has built a reputation for refined underground moods, and “Take A Chill Pill” is certainly no different.; The astounding Belgian producer; Session 4000 maneuvers and delievers 4 cuts between gritty shades of house and electro. This EP shifts the night into fifth gear with spaced out atmosfears and direct drive. Here is a producer whose experience for the hazy after hours takes us deep into such imagined trips as a “ravey conga paradise”, or some “hypnotic textured blend of vox sampled hits,” or twisted ravey motions, and big bass lines that blast the floor.

With live strings from the Kelley Polar Quartet and plenty of disco DNA, it's no mystery that this was made by half of Metro Area (and released just months before their underground classic "Miura"). "Mosaic Split Series kickstarts 2014 with three solid tracks of silky deepness that build upon the Mosaic sound of old whilst remaining firmly in the present. A: Steve O'Sullivan vs Kashawar "Take a Seat" Label boss, Steve O'Sullivan , follows up his recent Sushitech releases with this collaboration with young German producer Kashawar who has been gaining fans over the last year with his solidly atmospheric and funky EPs on Autoreply and Project London Records. Raw, slow old school house beats is the order of the day here with a sprinkling of melodic nu school deep techno touches that help to make this track perfect for both the warm up or after party. Just listen to the vocal sample if you have any doubts ... "Relax baby...Mr Big will take care of you in a minute." B1: Titonton Duvante "Such Good Taste" Despite an impressive back catalogue , including releases on Metamorphic, 7th City and Planet E , US techno veteran Titonton remains one of techno's best kept secrets and to say we are happy to welcome him to Mosaic is a massive understatement. Fusing the melodic edge of classical Detroit Techno with the jacking dancefloor intensity of Chicago, Titonton's "Such Good Taste," is a welcome addition to the Mosaic catalogue. ....the combination of kick drum and bassline alone are a thing of beauty... there is no way your ass won't move to this beast! B2: Eric Cloutier " Balsamaceous" Eric has made a name of himself over the last few years on the DJ circuit with sets that have been described as sprawling in depth and sophistication, fusing the brooding intensity of tripping techno with the mechanic funk of contemporary house. Thankfully for Mosaic his productions do the same! "Balsamaceous" is Eric's second release and showcases perfectly his unique take on the Detroit/Berlin Techno schooling he has obviously had: a deeply emotional yet hip wiggling take on the techno/house hybrid. This is one that will get the more discerning dancefloors shaking this year. Pure class is an understatement! "

Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of Consciousness’ gets a respectful touch-up 25 years on courtesy of

The German duo come strong with a pair of remixes, fit for two very different dancefloor scenarios. The
first a smart, stripped back breakbeat version that switches from a sparse percussive soundscape to the
famous acid warbles, before introducing undulating retro trance synths to the composition for a headmelting finish. Remix Two is a driving, four-to-the-floor, rave-focused affair that builds up the 303s with
exhilarating intensity, only letting up in the final moments of the track.
The fresh interpretation follows on from Adana Twins’ super re-work of Patrice Baumel’s ‘Roar’ that
dropped on Watergate last November and reinforces the duo’s golden touch on the remix front More

S.A.M. - What Defines You As A Human

S.A.M. - Lundeborg Winds

S.A.M. - Dive
S.A.M. returns to their Delaphine imprint with three tracks for the dance floor and beyond. All tracks carry a signature groovy and punchy low-end with deep other-dimensional swelling atmospheres and immersive compositions. The opening track 'What Defines You As A Human' takes you underwater with bubbly synth effects and arpeggiated bass plucks filling up the lows while flanging sizzling hi hats tickle the eardrum. The groove is driving with a single reflective line being repeated in whispering vocals.
The second track 'Lundeborg Winds' follows up with pad chords topped with an organically tweaked Moog melody all collapsing into a darker and stormy vibe. Here a new acidic bass line keeps you moving and brings you into the storm with curiosity. A soft and dreamy piano part carries the tunes outro and puts the storm to rest.
The full sided cut on the B-side named ‘Dive’ could refer to S.A.M. 's prior release from 2016 ‘Descend II Ascend’, because the track really does take you to deep inner oceans before ascending to shivering heights. Here the journey up high seems to be conditioned on diving inward. A solemn almost religious choir takes the composition in a unique direction toward a place somewhere in between the beats of the heart. More

Radio Slave - Amnesia Ft. Cagedbaby
Radio Slave's 'Venti' is released on Rekids on May 17th and is a twelve-track celebration of Matt Edward's most prominent alias' history. Starting life as a series of singles that began in 2023, 'Venti' sees Edwards explore lower tempos, House, Disco, and the Pop reinterpretations that birthed the moniker back in 2001.
From Venti’s opening track onwards, a glistening piece of piano-led house that's become an anthem at Sean Johnston and the late Andrew Weatherall's lauded ALFOS parties, it is clear that Edwards is keen to celebrate the past but through the lens of now. A Radio Slave favourite, 'Wait A Minute', is updated to include a powerful vocal from Nez. Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' - a track that kicked Radio Slave into the modern dance music consciousness is reinvented as an Italo-inspired cover featuring Michael Love Michael delivering glorious vocals. 'Wild Life' and 'Wake Up', another two tracks that, as singles, dominated house and disco sets of the great and good in 2023, feel simultaneously fresh while paying homage to the origins of House - message-heavy vocals and all. A cover of Audion's 'Mouth to Mouth' and Edwards' tribute to Terry Hall, the Fun Boy Three reimagining 'The Lunatics' are keen displays of Radio Slave's knack for taking on beloved tracks and making them his own. The lasers-set-to-stun cut-and-paste nu-disco of Radio Slave’s 'Jaws' is a muscular and timely reminder that the punch of a track lies in its feel rather than tempo, while Edward's command of dub aesthetics and unmatched ability to stretch grooves into a tension-filled journey shines through on 'New Balance' and the epic closer, 'Thirty-Six'. Never one to entirely give into the throes of the 4:4, the cinematic electro of 'Stranger In The Night' and Balearic Cagedbaby collab 'Amnesia' round out 'Venti' as the whole Radio Slave experience - as intense as it is subtle.
One of the most prolific and critically lauded electronic music artists of the past two and half decades, Matt Edwards was born in Catford, London, in the early 1970s. When acid house hit the city, Edwards was deep in the scene, and he's remained there since. Residencies at the groundbreaking Ministry of Sound and an 'unofficial' residency that has seen him become one of Panorama Bar's most booked DJs during his 15-year stint living in Berlin have provided the grounding for an enviable tour diary that continues today.
His Rekids imprint, a label that has platformed some of dance music's biggest names, has been regarded as a high benchmark for two decades with Matt as sole A&R. Collaborations with legendary artists such as DJ Hell and Robert Hood, releases for Running Back, R&S, Innervisions, Figure and more, and a remixography that simply couldn't be repeated in modern music show just how important Radio Slave is. Deepchord - Prana
2
Deepchord - Tantra
2024 repress
Prana glistens into existence as ethereal pads drift by, giving way to a subtle, almost deep house beat that pulses nicely, backed by tribal-esq percussion. A gently staccato synth pattern flutters in and out toying with the idea of techno ever so slightly yet keeping well within the realms of his usual sound. Simplicity is the key in this track and Deepchord allows it to evolve slowly and he toys with sweeps of reverb and FX giving the track a lush, organic sound.
Tantra gives off a tougher vibe than it predecessor. Gently layered, deeper, edgier synths open the track as percussive elements, swathed in FX form the basis of the groove. Bolstered by a typical Deepchord dubbed out bass line this track once again evolves perfectly almost without the listener noticing the subtle changes that give Tantra a deep and emotive flow.
Never one to sit still and be pigeon holed into a genre, Deepchord easily turns his hand once again a brings two beautifully crafted tracks in his own inimitable style More

Nuclear Waste - Finding The Way Out
The VA theme on the LP series under the name Untitled || continues to explore the subject of 8 different minds from different corner of the globe connected by the principle and love for the audio frequencies in line with Exarde. Featuring two artists which already dear to label due to the fact of past releases on it and six new ones who have become instant people of love and admiration for me. From the more deep and mellow to the higher pressure for the brain this double disc shall meet your demands. The art theme of this one is blobs & globs from space, whether they are emerging, fighting with their own shadow, or just simply floating and co-existing. This shall conclude my rambling for this body of work as I go and put these eight essences through my ear canals once again. Great deal of thanks for the hard work and dedication of these talented conductors.
