Since his first appearance on Running Back in 2009 (Forward Snipping), he did a marvelous job staying on his toes as a producer and DJ.
Rejuve-Nation showcases his talent in various alleys of electronic (dance) music with Crane Song being the prime cut here. You will get exposed to proggy house with an intelligent brush in two slightly different mixes. Former Rhein-Main homie and Robert Johnson resident Robert Dietz finally has its debut release on Live At Robert Johnson at Catalogue No. 069, which (as you may know) is the local area code of both Frankfurt and Offenbach am Main—where the Robert Johnson Club still holds strong. Being a seasoned DJ and producer, Robert Dietz surely sets the controls to a four-track Vinyl, with pleasing electroid-technoid sonic textures and subtle Acid figures, throughout this EP.
With its playful and uplifting vibe, A1 Kirby might just be inspired by the Jump’n’Run character by the same name, who may be easily imagined along that happy Acid bassline bubbling amidst synth-pads and electroid beats. Robert Dietz has been one of the most consistent producers around in recent years, with releases on a diverse assortment of labels including Cecille, Cadenza, Running Back and Saved Records. While Robert's 'Your So Hood' track featured on the Desolat X Sampler back in March, then this will be his long-awaited debut solo release on Desolat, and as one would expect from such a talented producer it is a an striking EP.
'Pherrox' kicks the EP off in startling style. The track has a brooding tone and trudges along, characterised by a sharp beat and a dark distorted vocal, with computerised stabs piercing the soundscape. 'Sweatshop' follows in a different vein and builds, with punchy hi-hats, acid bass, spoken word samples, a panning siren combining brilliantly and resulting in a medley of hedonistic vibes.
Next up is 'Who Am I', which takes a techier-tangent and sees an off-kilter beat, another gloriously manipulated vocal, and percussion spirals effortlessly merge on this mechanical monster. Rounding things up is 'Mind Trap', which is another robotic mutation featuring a disfigured vocal, electronic squelches, and swirling pulses of bass.
On the 'X' EP it is clear that Robert has lived up to his billing as one of the most consistently brilliant producers over the last few years. The X EP is evidence that Robert Dietz has drawn upon all his years of experience to craft an accomplished debut record for Desolat full of distorted textures, striking details and mechanical sounds.

Cadenza's latest release comes from a man who has made an undisputable impact on a host of A-list labels since he first began spreading his unique and invigorating sound spectrum in 2008. Hailing from Frankfurt and dividing his time between a hectic touring schedule that see's him travel the world and his studio where he compiles his exciting and technically compound productions , Robert Dietz joins Cadenza for the second time with the 'Slinger' EP.
Eclipsing the A-side is the percussion heavy and show stopper "Pandemic". Infused with sheer funk and relentless groove from its initial doors, "Pandemic" screams of sweat drenched dance floors, grinding movement and unstoppable force. Rebellious and cheeky in its sexual Latino wriggle yet modern and forward thinking in its structure; tight guitars pluck excitedly between intricate rhythm sections; so fast and furious that lines blur and beats blend in a never ending affair with the dance floor. Steaming ever forward with wriggling motion, this belting house track cannot help but infect as it rises and falls, pushes and pulls until exhaustion. Fitting its title like a glove, "Pandemic" is infectious and gripping with jazzy piano melodies and thunderous musicality. As a digital bonus, "Amesons Dub Mix" of "Pandemic" encases the original in a steel and echoing interpretation; hardened edges of metallic drums slide between piercing brass projections for a dub infused and contrasting mix.
On the flip, "Red Tops" is an adrenaline pumped fairground ride; exhilarating, dangerous and manic the smacking hand claps, jazzy cymbal crashes and spiralling drum rolls make way for a lush and rolling b-line with speeding hat's. Are you feeling energetic? Actually, don't even bother answering. Because after hearing Robert Dietz' "Soup Opera," you'll have stamina for days. It's a charging, standup bass burner that puts house sounds to techno purposes; it's a wolf in sheep's clothing, a rainstorm at the open-air-a monster, simply put, that leaves you drenched and grinning from ear to ear. Frankfurt's Dietz has been on fire for the past couple of years, turning out tight, percussive and above all memorable tech-house concoctions for the likes of Runing Back and Cecille Numbers, but none of his productions to date have had the full-on intensity of "Soup Opera." Raw, Chicago hi-hats lash out against a rising/falling bassline as midrange drones and fluttering tones keep frothing higher and higher; the way he mans the filters feels more like sculpture than music, carving away the bass to create a dizzying sense of floating in space, until gravity comes crashing home again. Laced with birdsong, "Aurel in Wonderland" is a more pastoral affair, dappled with rich, acoustic percussive sounds, its African palette opening up into a bittersweet minor-key melody. For all its sensitive heart, the track's got backbone, with a whipcrack jack offset by supple, unquantized drums; beat after beat, it's a slack rope pulled taut, and the force sends you soaring into a galaxy of butterflies.

Halle Weissensee (or Weißensee if you wish) starts where Sascha Funke’s last Ep for Running Back stopped. Mesmerizing house and techno music that interweaves classic forms with modern means and looks through the lenses of nostalgia with an open mind.
The Halle was a former engine plant in Berlin that got converted into a rave areal for the now legendary Mayday raves and one of the birthplaces and leading spots of the nineties. Coincidentally and unknowingly, 1993’s winter edition was attended by Funke and Gerd Janson and a conversation about it spawned this record. Don’t be mislead: this is not a retro rave fest, but an ode to the esprit of the times, the possibilities if an envisioned future and maybe most of all an afterglow. While Reality (sounding like a Relief record if the label would have been a topic at Bauhaus university) and the warped bleepiness of Halle Weissensee itself come closest to the actual sound aesthetic of that very night, Fantasy invokes the language of contemplative deep house from vintage New York, while Puzzle evokes a notion of what the same thing could be with the prefix progressive instead. Reality often falls short behind fantasy, but once in a while both complement each other very well.

Now, carefully rescued from the original DAT tapes, re-edited by Gerd Janson and remastered by Lopazz, it’s available again in a clear and present portraiture of its original intent.
Conceived by the rather elusive Mute, the Direct Cuts are a master class in heartfelt and understated timeless deep house. Influenced in equal parts by the still towering Prescription Underground and the New York singularity that was a young Bobby Konders, Mute managed to create a sound of his own. Most of the EP presents itself as an ode to the brain dance vibe of acid house rooted music. While leaving out the harder and faster styles of the genre, SDC manages to pour his heart and soul as a producer into these four charming tracks.

If you have ever looked for a danceable soundtrack that resembles strange dinosaurs, dark clouds, active volcanoes and powerful winds, you have finally found it. Aptly named after four different dinosaurs, this Ep consists of the irresistible uplifting vibe that is Sarcosuco and its sweet and melancholic counterpart Diplodoco, while the slow-motion rave Dimetrodonte and Gastonia mirror Fango’s darker and tool-like character. Jordon Alexander (pen name Mall Grab) brilliantly carved out his very own niche in dance music. Influenced by hardcore punk skateboarding and high fashion (Linea Rossa!) in equal parts the young Australian delivers precise studies in house and techno. As entertaining as they are excitatory there hasn’t been a bump on his road so far. Alexander’s debut for Running Back proves this point. How The Dogs Chill Vol.2 delivers four high octane tracks whose DNA contains traces of deep house and a penchant for atmospheric and dulcet melodies. But they are also muscle-bound soaring and cater to the aptitude of shaking legs. Written in 2022 while he was around the flora and fauna of Australia these tracks are also supposed to sound somewhat botanical – or at least evoke the sensory experience of a visit to a greenhouse. Carefully sequenced and crafted one is left with an appetite as soon as the playtime is over. Proper nutriment for party people and serious music pendants alike.

Jordon Alexander (pen name Mall Grab) brilliantly carved out his very own niche in dance music. Influenced by hardcore punk skateboarding and high fashion (Linea Rossa!) in equal parts the young Australian delivers precise studies in house and techno. As entertaining as they are excitatory there hasn’t been a bump on his road so far. Alexander’s debut for Running Back proves this point. How The Dogs Chill Vol.2 delivers four high octane tracks whose DNA contains traces of deep house and a penchant for atmospheric and dulcet melodies. But they are also muscle-bound soaring and cater to the aptitude of shaking legs. Written in 2022 while he was around the flora and fauna of Australia these tracks are also supposed to sound somewhat botanical – or at least evoke the sensory experience of a visit to a greenhouse. Carefully sequenced and crafted one is left with an appetite as soon as the playtime is over. Proper nutriment for party people and serious music pendants alike.

We are very pleased to finally present you a new Lorenz Rhode release, for the „Sandpaper EP“ Lorenz Rhode
and Jamie Lidell get together again. Their first collab „Any Kind of Pressure“ was followed by Lorenz joining
Jamie’s world tour and a remix of „Big Love“ for Warp Records. Jamie performs with an amazing energy, and his
soulful voice is carried by a warm and playful house backing: Minimoog bass, Rhodes piano and just some
sparkles of a very old Roland synth that Lorenz had just bought, and which is now broken.
The second new jam „On the Nightshift“ is a fun stabby tune based on a spiraling chord progression. It loops
every three-and-a-half bars, just to make life harder for DJs. A real nice warm groover.
The remix for „Sandpaper“ is a true family affair! Sound Support is the all new project by Lars Dales better known
as 1/2 of Detroit Swindle and Lorenz himself. They’ve just released their debut EP on Prins Thomas’ “Internasjonal”
label in October this year, here they take Jamie’s vocal into a more dramatic and electronic territory touching
electro grounds. To close things out we also added an instrumental on the vinyl and radio mix on the digital
version of this new EP. Enjoy as much as we did putting this together for you!

With a reputation built on years of developing his scene through important record releases and local as well as international activity, 'Light in the Darkness' confirms Rachmad's artistic relevance in a quickly developing scene.
With a tone-setting introduction for the EP, Rachmad immediately grips the listener's attention with the pragmatic yet nostalgic 'Mangled'. Chord stabs inch away from a brutal on-beat drum sequence, a technique responsible for many hits in the genre, this time tastefully repolished through spreaded wooden percussion in direct support. 'Mangled' boasts what A1's should - a worthy first impression - before luring us into what can be considered the apex of the EP. 'Light in the Darkness' claims the project title with a gradual exploration through celestial bodies. A minimal opening with a simple acid bassline shows a great deal of attitude before the listener gets caught in an unexpected tide of cosmic pads, dimensionalizing an initially linear record . With slow waves of rich synth work enveloping the only anchor to time that is rhythm, the result is a closed-eyed dance floor experience to be selected in prime conditions. Thick pads are immediately offered again, this time more orchestral than mental. The softness of this primary sound design is expertly dissected by a razor sharp resonant top synth and an upward drum construction, completing the spectrum of sound and unveiling a record with a size fit for warehouse capacities. Rachmad adds almost cinematic suspense to the EP with 'S.O.' - certainly not to be underestimated. This leads us to the project's closer 'Solidify', a delirious club groover. With a sound as bent and confronting as a house of mirrors, Rachmad leaves us with a final chapter to keep the heart racing past the end. More
